These stats should give Clement the licence to finally unleash him into the starting XI and if he is ready, there is no doubt the striker could cause problems for the Benfica defence.

The £26k-per-week striker was dubbed a “Duracell bunny” by his former manager Steven Gerrard due to his incredible work rate and hunger during matches, and this is exactly what Clement needs on a big night in Europe.

A win will send the Gers through to the quarter-finals of the event for the second time in three years and not only will it boost the coffers, but also give the club some momentum heading into the final weeks of the season.

Clement has done a wonderful job since arriving, with the Benfica tie proving to be the toughest test yet.

وأجاب لابورتا على عدة أمور تخص النادي الكتالوني سواء من الناحية الاقتصادية أو الجانب الرياضي للنادي.

وقال خوان لابورتا: “منذ 3 سنوات، كان هناك خطر على النادي، لأنه لم تكن هناك سيطرة. لقد كنا موضع ثقة، وعملنا من أجل التعافي الاقتصادي، واستعادة برشلونة للهيبة المؤسسية، وتعزيز لاماسيا، تم إنجاز العمل والشكر إلى الأشخاص الذين وثقوا بنا”.

وأضاف لابورتا: “جميع أعضاء برشلونة شكلوا جبهة موحدة للتغلب على الهجمات القادمة من كل مكان على النادي، الاعتداءات ستستمر، مثل قضية نيجريرا التي تظهر أحيانًا، لكن العدالة تثبت أننا على حق في كل مرة”.

وأكد رئيس برشلونة: “العلاقات مع ريال مدريد سيئة، لقد تدخلوا في قضية نيجريرا وهذا غير مقبول. هناك أيضًا دعاوى قضائية ضد الصحفيين”.

There is an exciting generation of Greek players coming through the ranks, with Konstantinos Karetsas catching the eye recently, scoring in his side’s 3-0 victory against Scotland, and Man United are also in the picture for the 17-year-old attacking midfielder.

However, according to a report from Caught Offside, Sunderland’s Chris Rigg is United’s top priority for the summer transfer window, and they have now started work on a move for the young attacking midfielder.

Amorim has given the move the green light, with the manager excited by the prospect of working with Rigg, who is now viewed as a ‘must-have’ signing this summer.

The 17-year-old is viewed as one of the most exciting young prospects in England at the moment, which means there is widespread interest in his signature, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion also tracking him.

Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid are also in the picture, with Ange Postecoglou’s side reportedly taking the first concrete step towards getting a deal done by submitting a £38m bid.

"Phenomenal" Rigg could be ready for big move

The teenager has emerged as a vital player for a Sunderland side pushing for promotion this season, making 34 appearances in the Championship, and he has displayed his versatility by featuring in a range of attacking positions.

Having predominantly featured in attacking midfield, the youngster has four goals to his name in the second tier, and he has received high praise for his performances from freelance scout Ben Mattinson.

According to recent reports, Emiliano Martinez is keen on completing a move to Old Trafford this summer, whilst Premier League rivals Aston Villa could have no choice but to sell the World Cup winner amid PSR concerns.

The Argentina international isn’t the only name on the list, though, with fresh reports now suggesting that INEOS have made their first move to sign a younger alternative.

According to Caught Offside, INEOS have now made contact with Marco Carnesecchi over a summer move to Manchester United. The Atalanta goalkeeper has impressed in Italy and has now caught the attention of those at Old Trafford, but it’s not a deal that will come cheap, with reports indicating that it will take a lucrative offer for Atalanta to sell their No.1 in the coming months.
